History of HPVBA
HPVBA started as a life-long dream for founder Francisco Casado. On December 9th, 2007 this world-class sports facility opened its doors to the local volleyball athletes that were in need of a home at the Jersey Shore. Now, close to its first anniversary, HPVBA has hosted more than 14,000 athletes in several tournaments and events, becoming the biggest sports facility of its kind in the Northeast region. HPVBA hopes to continue to expand its services to the local and regional athletic community offering from volleyball and basketball clinics to college recruiting services.
The facility is equipped with 12 volleyball courts, furnished with SnapSports® floors, 3 of which are currently set up for basketball training.

Francisco J. Casado Founder and CEO HP Sports and HPVBA

In 1994, Coach Francisco Casado began his coaching career working for the Borinquen Coquis Volleyball Club for the e 13-14 boys team that represented Puerto Rico at the Junior Olympics in San Jose, California where they won the silver medal. Additionally, he has coached at several clubs and amateur organizations in the 1990 ’s, including a volunteer position with the Police Athletic League as an athletic instructor and volleyball coach. After an impressive record with The Keystone Region Volleyball Association from 2000 to 2002, Coach Casado was hired as the head coach for Georgian Court University’s volleyball program in 2003. Since 2003 Georgian Court’s team has improved tremendously, becoming a successful NCAA Div. II program, and winning the CACC conference Championships back to back in 2006 and 2007. In 2007 coach Casado earned the prestigious Coach Of The Year Award for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference thanks to the team’s phenomenal season under Casado’s guidance.
With the support of several parents and local community leaders, Coach Francisco Casado founded the The Jersey Shore Volleyball Club (JSVBC) in 2002. The club was organized as a member of the Garden Empire Volleyball Association and United State Volleyball Association (USVA), which was the first USVA youth program to evolve in the Jersey Shore area. Furthermore, these and many other organizations have applauded and learned from the accomplished leaders of the JSVBC. In December 9, 2007 The High Performance Volleyball Academy, Casado’s life long dream, was made possible thanks to the effort of friends and family. Since then the academy has become the largest volleyball center in the entire Northeast region, serving over 14,000 athletes during its first year.
